The Bandpages:

On the following page I want to introduce new interesting bands, one band each month. Those of you who know a new band and want it to be featured on this page - just email me. This time we feature [+] Z.e.t.a. X ..

[+] Z.e.t.a. X „Feoh“

...there’s only one band that knows how Melodic Dark Electro should sound!

When I saw this fascinating band live on stage in Leipzig I knew [+] Z.e.t.a. X belong to the big ones of the genre. Reason enough, to introduce them to you.

[+] Z.e.t.a. X were described as the most important Electro newcomer of the year (see. Sonic Seducer and Orkus) and have gained a good reputation by a several Club-Gigs and a tour in Germany this year. Since the release of their smash hit CD „Feoh” in mid October 2000, some critics speak of a sensational debut and one of the best first works of a newcomer band for years. Small wonder, because [+] Z.e.t.a. X consists of the two all-round musicians C*W*K and Ralph Maten, who have been working for years in several different art genres.

The CD „Feoh“ was recorded in collaboration with the famous EBM-producer Gerrit Thomas (Ravenous & Funker Vogt) in the Lager II-Studio and mastered by none other than Alexander Krull (Atrocity).

[+] Z.e.t.a. X sounds more epic, darker, and more aggressive, but more melancholic and more melodic than most other bands of the Electro, Wave and Gothic genre, too. In musical sense the debut CD „Feoh” can be described as „Melodic Dark Elektro”, even if it is almost impossible to categorize it because of the band’s broad stylistic band width. Hard guitar riffs meet epical-dark keyboard arrangements, a number of ingenious effects and enormously varied vocals, that are on the one hand extremely aggressive, and on the other hand very soft. Small wonder, the voice pitch of both singers covers four octaves. This provides the music with a certain pop flair, in spite of all the darkness.

On „Feoh” the protagonists of [+] Z.e.t.a. X, prove to be one of the most versatile Electro-Wave and Gothic-bands of our time who found their own style, that is hard to be categorized. Besides of the club hits „Devil´s Touch“, „Cardinal Sins” and „Crimes of The Centuries”, the album contains the bombastic-dark gothic-epic „Helpless Brain”, the melancholic-depressive ballad „Requiem” as well as the eleven minute opus „Millennium Of Mysteries” - here 1000 years of misanthropy and philanthropy are combined in one single song. The CD contains the bonus song „@ 2000 A.D.” a Dance-track fit for the charts, that reminds us of the best times of electronic pop music.

Live they are an absolute must for every fan of the genre. Their show is unique, the audience feels the enormous power of their music. It is almost like a visit of another dimension. Here is a list of their gigs so far:

In April [+] Z.e.t.a. X were on a long tour through Germany with the legendary band Weltenbrand (famous clubs, like Berlin, Glashaus/Arena).

On 3rd June 2001 [+] Z.e.t.a. X presented their melodic dark Electro performance for the first time at the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig (with Laibach, In Extremo, Subway To Sally, Front 242 etc). The WGT audience was especially impressed by the striking presentation of the stage show (with fire eaters and jugglers).

At the moment the band is in the studio again, to work on the successor of the hit CD feoh. We are full of expectation.

THIS IS THE GATE INTO A NEW DIMENSION
