Derive

Derive consists of Arne Seeger from Berlin and Sascha Minkmar from Hannover. (both
vocals, programming and keyboards). The music of Derive is orientated at the Synthie Pop and Wave of the 80s, in combination with newer stylistic elements.

Because of their interest in electronic music they founded the project “Plaidoyer Fatal” as early as 1993. During that time they recorded their first ten-track tape "Prove The Innocence".

Among others, the Hannoverian DJ Kai Hawaii became attentive to the cover version of Anne Clarks "Sleeper In Metropolis". This version was released in 1993 by the record company Synthetic Symphony on the sampler "Scanning ... Vol.1" together with cover versions of other bands.
Due to the distance during their time at different universities the music came to a standstill for some time.
In 1996 the work was intensified again. New Songs were produced and some live gigs followed. Demos were send to several record companies the same time. After a short while, a contract with Celtic Circle Productions was signed in 1997. During that time the debut CD of the band was planned, but unfortunately it was not released because of the companies financial problems. The co-operation was at once stopped.

Because of this negative experience the duo put an end to "Plaidoyer Fatal" and founded the new band “Derive” in the beginning of 1999. They produced the just released eight-track CD “Decayed” (own production). On the CD are three remixed songs from "Plaidoyer Fatal" as well as new songs.

In future a new EP is in planning. It will contain danceable, melodious pieces and calmer songs. Important for every song is a catchy melody. If there is the opportunity, a live gig will follow.
